Art Director

After graduating from METU Computer Engineering Department in 1986, she worked in the Systems Development Department at Netaş, until 1988. During this period she worked with Northern Telecom on the ISDN digital lines, which was the first pilot project in Turkey. Later, in Alcatel SEL Telecomm-Stuttgart, she was involved in many international projects as a Software Engineer, between 1988-1995 and participated in a joint projects with Bell Telecomm-Belgium.

During her sector experience in Information and Telecommunication Sector nearly 10 years, Derya Bigalı attended many courses in Germany about arts due to her interest. After returning to Turkey in 1995, she worked in arts activities and brand management within Akbank.

As being integrated communications manager, she undertook brand management of Akbank, between 2001 and 2003.

Since 2003 she is the director of Akbank Sanat. As being one of most important art centers of Turkey, Akbank Sanat carries out Akbank Jazz Festival, Akbank Short Film Festival and over 700 events annually in many areas of the art, such as Akbank Children's Theatre, exhibitions, concerts, lectures, workshops, dance workshops, printing workshops etc.
