Created in the spirit of TED’s mission, “ideas worth spreading,” the TEDx program is designed to give communities, organizations and individuals the opportunity to stimulate dialogue through TED-like experiences at the local level. TEDx events are fully planned and coordinated independently, on a community-by-community basis.
About TED
TED is a global foundation devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. It started out in 1984 as a conference bringing together people from three worlds: Technology, Entertainment, Design. Since then, its scope has become ever broader.
With its two annual conferences, video website TED.com, initiatives and community projects, TED is now a platform and a global movement focused on meaningful change through the power of ideas.

Korhan GÜRSEL
Computer Engineer
Korhan Gürsel was born in 1964 in Izmir. He graduated from Bornova Anatolian High School, and Computer Engineering Department of Middle East Technical University. For 30 years, he worked for Information Technology departments of multinational foreign companies, in management positions. Through all stages of his life starting from childhood, classical music, opera and jazz were his passions. He tried to follow both Turkish and European opera / ballet and classical music festivals and institutions, closely. He has started to study piano from the age of nine as his first instrument. Nowadays he is working on flute. He lives in Istanbul.
