Created in the spirit of TED’s mission, “ideas worth spreading,” the TEDx program is designed to give communities, organizations and individuals the opportunity to stimulate dialogue through TED-like experiences at the local level. TEDx events are fully planned and coordinated independently, on a community-by-community basis.

Mehpare Kınık USTOMAR

Mehpare Kınık Ustomar is one of the pioneers of gifted and talented schooling in Turkey. She graduated from Yildiz Technical University, Department of Mathematics in 1991. Afterwards, she received her M.A degree in Information System Management from Marmara University. She started her career as an information system specialist in 1991. She worked with world leading companies like Renault, Nestle, Eczacıbaşı Baxter Hospital Product over 17 years in several subjects like project coordination, system installation, system management and innovation. Alongside her experiences in the private sector she also taught mathematics and computer programming in Istanbul Kultur University. After she found out that his son is a gifted child, she focused on gifted and talented schooling and immediately realizes that the lack of structure of sustainable gifted education in Turkey. In order to fulfil the needs of gifted and talented children, first she organized an enrichment program for gifted children with the cooperation of USTZEM (Center for Gifted Children) which she is one of the founders and Bilgi University. After 2008, enrichment programs continue to be conducted in cooperation with Bilgi University. After the successful returns, she founded Mozaik Educational Institute in 2009 which started out as a pre-educational school and then grew with the opening of a primary school in 2013. Today, the Mozaik Educational Institute continues to make a difference in gifted schooling.
